APTRANSCO Assistant Executive Engineer (Electrical)

Andhra Pradesh State Electricity Board (APSEB) was established in 1959, serving as the caretaker of Generation, Transmission, and Distribution of Electricity. The reforms of 1998 led to the creation of APGENCO, APTRANSCO, and four APDISCOMs.

About APTRANSCO

APTRANSCO was launched on 1st February 1999. Between February 1999 and June 2005, it functioned as a single purchaser in the state, purchasing power from various power generators and offering it to the Distribution Companies (DISCOMs) as per individual Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) at Bulk Supply Tariff (BST) rates.

What is APTRANSCO Exam?

The APTRANSCO exam is held annually to recruit engineering graduates for the position of Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE). The selection is based on a written exam conducted by APTRANSCO.

  • Exam Pattern: 100 questions, 1 mark each, no negative marking.
  • Exam Sections:
    • Core Academic Questions (Engineering-related) – 70 Marks
    • Analytical Aptitude – 30 Marks

Eligibility Criteria

  • Age Limit: Maximum 42 years. Relaxations: 5 years for SC/ST/BC, and 10 years for P.H candidates.
  • Educational Qualifications: BE/B.Tech/A.M.I.E in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized University in India.

APTRANSCO Execution of Bond

Candidates appointed will be required to execute a bond to serve APTRANSCO for a minimum period of 5 years after the Training-cum-Probation period. If they leave before the completion of the bond, they must pay a penalty.

Pay Structure & T&C

  • Scale of Pay: Rs. 60,155 – Rs. 92,965
  • Training-cum-Probation Period: 2 years
  • Minimum Posting Duration: 3 years at substations

The candidates will be governed by the rules and regulations set by APTRANSCO.
